When I began Elle Damian Hair I had no idea what I was embarking on. I was 22, just married and working in a going no where salon. I was given a small list of options and told, "this is all you will accomplish." Well, that was not good enough for me. I decided to ditch the salon and as they say, "go freelance." I was hoping to find a bigger better realm to showcase my work in. What I found was about a million other stylists with my same goal and not a clue where to begin. So, I rolled up my sleeves and started with the tough stuff. I worked for pennies, sometimes I worked just to be mentioned on a fancy instagram model's page and nothing more. I gained clients. I began to meet the quality of people that I had been searching for my whole career. Real women, strong, smart, funny women who chose me to style their hair on the most important days of their lives. So many of my clients tell me before we get started, "make me beautiful," to which I always whole heartedly respond, "even more beautiful!" I have found women who are stunning inside and out that make my work beyond a pleasure. Presently, I am doing what I love and I am obsessed with it. I continue to invest time and effort into my craft and it continues to reward me every single day.
To answer your next question. No, I do not do makeup. Along the way in my career I met Michelle. We were working on a bridal party together and I took notice of her work. On the most important day of your life, let's face it, you want to look like you. Michelle took the entire bridal party and made them look done, stunning, but not as if they had fallen face first into a contour kit. We exchanged information and slowly started reaching out to one another with a, "hey I have this gig and they need a hairstylist," and, "hey Michelle tell me you're available tomorrow the bride has no makeup artist!" And here we are years later, partners. I found a dependable, honest friend and partner which in this business is no easy feat. I am proud to recommend her to all of my clients, please click the link below to review her lovely work.
